The Asics Gel Kayano 16 is known for being well cushioned that includes a ton of Gel, and its very supportive landing pad for the foot. Along with slight redesign of the asymmetrical lacing system from last year, some material has been removed from the end of the lacing system, which gives the feeling of a bigger toe box. However, one update in the Asics Kayano 16 regarding the heel is a slightly lower heel collar, which may fit a little differently than it did with the Kayano 15. All this cushioning and support does come at the cost of weight of the shoe, which is one of the heavier shoes out there.
